Cape Cod Veterans News

03

Steve along with many Cape Codders have been volunteering at Joint Base Cape Cod every day creating and delivering boXes filled with food for Veterans and Gold Star Families. The program is run by Massachusetts Military Support Foundation and is called
FOOD4VETS

From a great Patriot and Cape Codder Steven G. Xiarhos who is working with Massachusetts Military Support Foundation to deliver thousands of packages of food to Veterans and Active Duty Families. CCVI member will assist when asked. More to follow!

"Every Tuesday and Thursday from 1000 to 1200 we will have a drive through pick up at Sandwich High school. All cape cod veterans and Gold Star Families can pull up in the parking lot at Sandwich HS right off of eXit 3 and we will place a box in their back seat or trunk. We could use your help putting the word out and helping with the boXes.

It will be outdoors and only for two hours. This will be a great way to get all Vets on Cape Cod. We may also do one in the Lower Cape. Will send you the information later today!!!"

Each box has two weeks worth of food in them.
We delivered approximately 500 filled boxes all over Cape Cod last week.
We dropped at the following locations:
Provincetown Police Department
Chatham Natural Resources
Dennis Police Headquarters
Yarmouth Senior Center
Barnstable Community Center
Sandwich High School
Mashpee Christ the King Church
Bourne Community Center
Falmouth Housing Authority
Falmouth Food Pantry
We have hundreds more and will soon set up a drive up program for all of Cape Cod.
