At Home Base, our Outreach Team is made up of individuals who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan since 2001. Some have had their own experience with combat–related stress. Some returned home and entered college. They know that the stigma of seeking help, unease about the health care system, anxiety about managing a return to school or a job, and family stresses are real obstacles their fellow veterans are working to overcome as they take steps to heal from the "invisible wounds of war."
