Dear Cape Cod Veterans, My name is Ellen Gerstein an actor / director / filmmaker from Los Angeles, California. My film “Come Away With Me” starring Charles Robinson (Night Court, Hart of Dixie & Home Improvement) and myself Ellen Gerstein (Shameless, Southland & A Murder of Crows) has been accepted into the Woods Hole Film Festival. My team and I are extremely excited to visit Cape Cod for the festival (July 25th - August 1st)! The story of “Come Away With Me” is about an interracial couple, sweethearts in the sixties, that were torn apart by war and social pressures. After many years, Ann has the courage to go to her high school reunion in hopes of rekindling the romance with Michael—a war hero who suffers from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Alzheimer's Disease, but is still the love of her life. “Come Away With Me” was featured at the Diversity in Cannes Film Festival and has won the Platinum Remi Award at The WorldFest Houston Film Festival. My film deals with many important issues, one of which, is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. I am reaching out to you due to the heart-felt nature of the film. There were many people who brought this movie to life (actors, crew, production) that had their own personal experiences with loved ones who were diagnosed with PTSD. The “Come Away With Me” Team and myself would like nothing more than to show your organization our film while attending the Woods Hole Film Festival this summer. If any of your members or volunteers are able to make it to our East Coast Premiere, here are the following details: “Come Away With Me” by Ellen Gerstein. Date: Tuesday, July 28th Location: Old Fire House Station Time: 7:00 P.M. I feel that Posttraumatic Stress Disorder is becoming more prevalent, and the more it can be brought to light in the general population’s eyes, the better. I’m available to talk about “Come Away With Me” and support your cause if you have any opportunities for me to do so. If any of your members decided to attend the showing, please, please, please be sure to introduce yourselves to me; I’d be looking forward to meeting you! Wishing you my very best, Ellen Gerstein
