Families in Transition is an innovative and unique program developed for military families who have an immediate family member deployed or one who has returned from deployment. This five day camp in August brings military families together in a farm setting where they experience the healing qualities of horses while learning how to groom and ride. Families spend time with each other, enjoy planned activities, have conversation over wonderful dinners and meet other families going through some of the same challenges of transitioning through and after deployment. The program is a collaboration of Heroes in Transition, Inc., Military Family Outreach Cape Cod and Smithfield Farm.
