May 1st next regular monthly meeting 6PM at O’Shea’s Olde Inn

March 30th Fundraiser for Shea’s No Hold’em Basketball League, went well, all funds raised went to the youth program.  April 4th Sand Dollar reopening for the Red Sox Home Opener, 2PM, CCVI staff and members are urged to come out see the Sox and listen to member Greg Buckley at 5PM. April 27th  will be a VFW Golf Outing at the Highlands, funds raised will go towards hiring a bus to take WWII Veterans from the Cape to the WWII Museum in Natick. A boxed lunch is being worked on.

More information to come. CCVI will donate to this fund. Cost to enter the Museum is $25 each.

May 17th is Pig Roast at the Sand Dollar, 2-6PM, live music, great food,  $20 per ticket, pick one up at the Sand Dollar or see staff. 

The next trip to Walter Reed Military Medical Center will be May 22-25th. Any member wishing to attend will have to pay the full cost of the trip, flight, hotel, meals, rental car. We have just ordered $3,000 in TD Bank Gift Cards to hand out. CCVI and VFW Post 10274 will be delivering checks to the Walter Reed Society, and visiting member Vincent Brodeur at Walter Reed for treatment of wounds . CCVI does not pay/reimburse members as per By Laws for organizational activities nor do we pay salaries.

May 25-26th Troops In The Spotlight hosted by Cape Cod Cares for the Troops at the Kmart Shopping Center Route 132 Hyannis, starts at 11:30 Sunday till 11:30 Monday. Please support a great organization which has been sending packages to our troops for over 10 years.

June 7th is date for US Coast Guard Chatham Light Family Cookout. CCVI will honor theses brave man and women who keep our coasts safe. Shirts and Challenge Coins will be presented to them.

June 9th is our Wounded Warfighters Fishing Trip in Falmouth. Executive Director and Dennis Harbormaster Terry Clen  has put together a great day for the most severely wounded Warfighter from our area. He is working with boat captains to take out these heroes and The Boathouse Restaurant to dine them. Rob Warren will provide the music. Each Hero will receive a special gift from CCVI. The funds have been approved at the Feb. meeting.

June 22nd Tery Clen has a great lineup for Whiskey Whiskey Golf Fundraiser at the Sand Dollar with Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys plus many musicians Wicked Thrift stores on Cape will discount 20% off of sales to CCVI members and Veterans, also meeting this month with two partners who are opening a Patriotic Wares Company on the Cape this spring. They are aware of what we do and want to donate a portion of their sales to CCVI. More to follow after staff meets with Company Execs.
