Our Annual Veterans Christmas Party at Eagle Pond Nursing Home on Dec. 16th was a fantastic time. Residents were treated to cookies baked by Cape Cod Veterans Inc. staff. President Paul Glenn brought the libations, Santa (Finance Officer, Horace Thayer) with Head Elf Joe Fallon, Amvets Post 333 Commander with special Elfs, Joyce, Trish, Betty, Janice, Rae and Vickie, handing out a gift bags supplied by TD Bank and put together by CCVI Chaplain Harry Watling Veterans and staff assisted the residents with singing and drinks. CCVI Christmas Entertainer Kathleen Healy did a magnificent service as usual, as all residents were singing along. Very heartwarming to see elderly residents enjoying the afternoon. Great turnout by many Veterans Groups besides Cape Cod Veterans Inc., Amvets Post 333, VFW Dennis Post 10274, VFW Brewster, DAV Post 96, American Legion Post 206 and Marine Corps League. There was a moment to remember our First Santa, Sam Franco, Korean War Vet who pass this year. So many years of service was remembered. And a shout out to Ms. Claus (Martha Thayer) for making the Santa uniform!
