14th annual TROOPS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Sunday May 27th at 11:30 through Monday May 28th at noon

You can come for 10 mins, an hour, the afternoon, evening, anytime...24 Hours event to honor our military!
This is a great family event. Opening Ceremony will honor our WWll, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans. Special Ceremony at 3:00 will honor our Vietnam Veterans(more info below). Join us for a BBQ lunch, send a video message to our deployed troops, donate items for care packages, visit the Iraq/Afghanistan Memorial Wall, Kids Tent (with arts & crafts, games, free raffles, face painting), Military Vechicles, Support the Troops Raffles, Music, K9 Demo, Car Show from 4-7pm, midnight ceremony to honor Memorial Day, sign our Support the Troops banner which will be sent one of our deployed units and more to be announced.
You can help by bring items needed for care packages, make a monetary donation, write out a few cards and letters to go in our care packages but most of all please plan to attend anytime during this 24 hour event.

We are also looking for businesses to sponsors each hour. With the cost of postage increasing this year we need to raise funds

The Department of Defense recognizes Cape Cod Cares for the Troops a Commemorative Partner to appreciate and honor our Vietnam War Veterans for their service, valor and sacrifice. We invite all Vietnam War Veterans to participate in this ceremony.
Each veteran will be introduced, thanked for their service, presented with a gift and then officially "Welcomed Home"
After a short ceremony the Official Vietnam War Commemoration Flag will be presented and proudly flown until the closing ceremony of Troops in the Spotlight.
The public is invited to be part of this event and give our Veterans the welcome home they never received. It is never too late for a Grateful Nation to thank and honor our Vietnam Veterans. Ceremony starts at 3:00 on Sunday May 27th.

Cape Flyer will provide free transportation from South Station to Hyannis, making several stops along the way. Veterans and one guest ride free. Free tickets are available at https://2018vets.eventbrite.com or call Kathy Jensen at Cape Cod RTA (508)775-8504

If you are a military member or veteran we are looking for volunteers to stand at attention on the stage for a one hour shift. Uniform is required. Hours needed from 1130 on Sunday May 27th to 1200 on Monday May 28th. Please send an email to capecod4thetroops@comcast.net
