Shawney Carroll a member and agent for the MA Veterans Service Officer notified CCVI of a needy Vet. The needy Vet in the new Dennis Vets Home needed almost $700 for bills so he can register his vehicleand other bills and look for employment. CCVI donated $800 so he can get back on his feet. $500 scholarship sent to Monomoy HS in the name of Greg "Big Gus" Buckley. A check of $1,000 sent to D-Y HS from the McGilvray Golf Shootout for 2-Scholarships. The Walk For Hunger Fundraiser will be held at The Sand Dollar in April. CCVI will supply the musicians and make a donation. Horace's goal is $10,000 this year. All funds raised on the Cape come back here to pantries. The MS Fundraiser will be discussed also. If you go to the Sand Dollar please call for reservations as Terry is very busy. Outside music is now available there weather permitting. Jimmy at the Harwich Inn will soon open the Tiki Bar weather permitting. Joyce and Timmy brought out a 95 year-old Vet to the Harwich Inn this week, they do a super job on taking care of these WWII Vets. A dicission on a meeting will be made after President Glynn confers with the staff. CCVI along with the VA outreach on West Main St., MA State Service Officers ( Staff met with Greg on 3/19 in Hyannis) and Cape Cod Veterans Outreach (They build the homes to house Veterans who lose their homes and apartment while they get back on their feet) are debating to restart Cape Cod Veterans Cooperative.
