The Town of Dennis is in the process of revitalizing Merrill Veterans Memorial Park in West Dennis. As part of the project, the town is sponsoring an adopt-a-board program. The park, which is on Route 28 at Bass River, was originally known as Horsefoot Cove Landing.

The walkway and surrounding area have fallen into disrepair and the planks will be used to form a new walkway to a viewing area on Bass River.

Participants are encouraged to purchase a plank in honor of a friend of loved one who has served. Planks are available on a first come, first serve basis for a contribution of $80.

The program offers a way to memorialize a loved one and support the Dennis VFW and Cape Cod Veterans, Inc. Contributions are tax deductible.

Questions may be addressed to Brian Everett, the town's land management specialist atbeverett@town.dennis.ma.us. Download the form here.
