Yesterday I received my VA ID card.  The only problem was that several VA personnel told me to get my picture taken at Boston, Providence, New Bedford, etc. depending on who I talked to.

Turns out Hyannis does it, without appointment, and it took me only about 5 minutes.  A week later I had my VA ID card.

I did learn a few things more about the VA from reading Army Times articles on the subject. Bottom line, you might ending up paying more for VA hospitalization (assuming you can get admitted) than your Medicare and Tri Care would pay, assuming you weren't covered for that VA disability. But, do think all Veterans should get the VA ID card.....and suspect that most of them should just go to Hyannis with their driver's license. If they are in the system, then will just take the picture, etc.
